ACENet Caravan Brings Tasty Treats to Hampton Inn

Did you try the ghost pepper salsa?

That was just one of the many options available during the ACENet Caravan event on Friday afternoon.

ACENet Caravan Brings Tasty Treats to Hampton InnChips and salsa, bread and jam, greens and a variety of dressings, tea and pastries, were available for the employees of the Hampton Inn to enjoy as the winners of the first ACENet Caravan contest held in conjunction with the Appalachian Center for Economic Networks and The Messenger to celebrate ACEnet’s 30th anniversary.

Items for the caravan were provided by Crumbs Bakery, Herbal Sage Tea, Laurel Valley Creamery, Bangbough Pretzels, Vino de Milo, Green Edge Gardens, Shagbark Seed and Mill, Cherry Orchards, JB’s Best Sauces and Casa Nueva.

“Everything was really fantastic,” said Hampton Inn employee Melissa Bailes, noting she particularly liked the tomato basil cheese.

Taryn Weisheit noted that while the pineapple jam ACENet Caravan Brings Tasty Treats to Hampton Innsounded “weird” so she had to try it and thought it was really good. Cristy Shafer added that the pretzel chips were a great snack option for her kids.

The caravan is sponsored by the Ohio University Credit Union, Kroger and O’Nail Hartman Insurance.

“I’m really happy we could provide the opportunity for the employees of Hampton Inn to take a break and sample some food,” said Eva Bloom of Ohio University Credit Union. “This also allows us to show support for the community and other businesses.”
