Chef Kathryn Mosher, CEC, CHE, grew up in Lancaster, OH though originally from Lexington, Ky. After high school, she attended Bowling Green State University and received a bachelor of science in Interior Design. Chef Katie then moved to Savannah, GA where she attended Savannah College of Art and Design to study Historic Preservation. While attending SCAD, she started working in the hospitality industry, prompting a switch in careers and, eventually, encouraging her to attend Hocking College to receive her Associate of Applied Business in Culinary Arts.
After graduating from Hocking, Chef Katie worked at several local restaurants and catering operations. In 2011, she began teaching at Hocking College, eventually becoming the Department Chair for the School of Hospitality. In 2017, Chef Katie moved to Tri-County Career Center to provide Culinary Arts Education for High School students in Athens, Logan, Trimble, Miller, Federal Hocking, and Alexander School Districts. She also works with the Rural Action’s “Farm-to-School” program, which encourages local produce to be purchased by local school systems and assists in the local economic development of the area. In addition to teaching at Tri-County, Chef Katie also teaches part-time at Hocking College and works in West Virginia during the summers at Adventures on the Gorge Resort. When not working or volunteering, Chef Katie is out adventuring with her husband Matt, and their two puppies, Winston and Layla.
