Special Projects Coordinator
Rosemary Roe joined ACEnet staff as full time Special Projects Coordinator in November 2016. With funding through the Appalachian Regional Commission, she is working with regional farmers and food processors across central Appalachia to connect them with buyers ready to increase their support of local economies through sourcing more locally grown food.
Recently, Rosemary played a key role in facilitating activities of multiple organizations committed to increasing healthy food access which resulted in the distribution 260,000 pounds of locally sourced throughout Appalachian Ohio. Over the past decade, Rosemary has worked in a variety of capacity building roles within multiple sectors. Her interest in community and economic development began while she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Appalachia Ohio, and deepened when she transitioned to a role at the Farm Service Agency where she supported the loan servicing and compliance department. She has learned alongside dynamic leaders of 6 start-ups and social enterprises, and has a passion for operations planning focused around triple bottom line objectives.
Rosemary was raised in Clark County Ohio and attended Ohio University, graduating with a degree in Geography in 2008. She has also earned a certificate in Non-Profit Management and was a finalist in the 2013 Bad Girl Ventures Columbus cohort. She sits on the board of the Ohio Citizen Action Research and Education Fund, and is a member of the American Association of Geographers (AAG), Project Management Institute (PMI), and the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
